Game Overview
Welcome to "The Journey of Frodo Baggins," a text adventure where you play as Frodo on his quest to destroy the One Ring. Your ultimate goal is to travel from Bag End to Mount Doom, avoiding dangers and using items wisely to complete your mission.
Basic Controls
The game offers two ways to interact:
- GUI Interface: Click on locations in the exits list to travel, use the inventory panel to manage items, and click the map to visualize your journey.
- Command Line: Enter text commands in the input field at the bottom of the screen.
Game Mechanics
Navigation
- Use the
go [location]command or click on a location in the exits list to move. - The map tab shows your current position in Middle-earth.
- Each location connects to specific other locations, forming a path from Bag End to Mount Doom.
Items and Inventory
- Maximum Capacity: You can carry up to 3 items at once.
- Obtaining Items: Use
pickup [item]or drag items from the room panel to your inventory. - Dropping Items: Use
drop [item]or drag items from your inventory to the room panel. - Using Items: Use
use [item]or click on an item in your inventory. An item remains in use until you use another item. - Viewing Inventory: Use
itemsor check the "Items" tab.
Special Item Effects
- The One Ring: Makes you invisible to orcs but more visible to Nazgûl. Can only be used 3 times before it consumes you. Must be dropped into Mount Doom to win the game.
- Sting: A sword that helps you fight orcs and reduces your chance of dying in orc encounters.
- Mithril Armor: Protects you from orc attacks, especially useful in Moria.
- Elven Cloak: Makes you nearly invisible to many enemies.
- Light of Earendil: Crucial for surviving the encounter with Shelob in Cirith Ungol.
- Pipe: Provides helpful hints about the game when used.
- Lembas: Elven bread from Lothlórien.
Dangers and Encounters
- Nazgûl: Found at Green Hill Country, Weathertop, and Dead Marshes. The Ring makes you MORE visible to them!
- Orcs: Found in Moria, River Anduin, Emyn Muil, Dead Marshes, and Black Gate. The Ring or Elven Cloak help avoid them.
- Shelob: Guards Cirith Ungol. You need the Light of Earendil to pass safely.
- Freezing: The Misty Mountains are dangerously cold with a high chance of freezing to death.

- Bag End: Your starting point, where you find the Ring.
- Green Hill Country: Watch for Nazgûl here.
- Brandywine Bridge: A safer path toward Bree.
- Bree: A town where you can find a pipe with hints.
- Weathertop: Dangerous location with Nazgûl.
- Rivendell: Elven sanctuary where you can obtain Sting and Mithril armor.
- Misty Mountains: Very cold location with risk of freezing.
- Moria: Underground passage filled with orcs.
- Lothlórien: Elven forest where you can obtain the Light of Earendil, Elven Cloak, and Lembas.
- River Anduin: River with orc patrols.
- Emyn Muil: Rocky hills with orc encounters.
- Dead Marshes: Dangerous swamp with both orcs and Nazgûl.
- Black Gate: Heavily guarded entrance to Mordor.
- Cirith Ungol: Pass guarded by Shelob.
- Mount Doom: Final destination where you must drop the Ring to win.

Strategic Tips

- Rivendell and Lothlórien: These are key locations for acquiring important items.

Winning the Game
To win, you must:
- Reach Mount Doom with the Ring still in your possession.
- Use the
